City-Soil-Food-Wine Tour
We recently hosted a group of 60 guests at our Pasadena store from the local and state government, wine sector, farming, business, architecture and design, influencers in the sustainability space, among others.
The visit was a part of a tour that looked at the city, soil, food and wine connection in South Australia, following the organics circular economy hosted by the Jeffries Board. Jeffries are a proudly South Australian family business that have been making quality products for the landscaping and horticulture industry for generations. They are also the company that takes our food waste from our two stores and turns it into compost!
The tour started at Pasadena with a delicious spread of baked goods, fresh fruit and drinks, where Spero Chapley, Director of Adelaide’s Finest, and Brian Johnston, Sustainability Officer, spoke about our sustainability journey.
The group heard from the City of Mitcham on sustainably initiatives with a climate focused community before taking off on the bus tour to Village Greens of Willunga Creek, before lunch at the Salopian Inn, then witnessing the application of compost under vines in a McLaren Vale vineyard before returning to Adelaide.
