Adelaide’s finest supermarkets, Frewville & Pasadena Foodland have become the FIRST supermarkets in Australia to eliminate single-use plastic fruit & veg bags from Friday 11th September and replace with compostable cornstarch bags!
We have removed all single-use plastic bags in our fresh departments throughout our stores and introduced Australian certified 100% compostable bags, which are made in SA by BioBag! They break down just like plants in a composting environment, and can go straight into the household green bin or home compost bin with food scraps.
This initiative is a game-changer and is in partnership with KESAB to save more than 3 million single-use plastic bags per year from going into landfill.
