Reinventing The Supermarket Experience
Piano man David Riessen is one of the growing bandof talented musicians who perform at Adelaide’s Finest and bring the feel-good factor back to supermarket shopping.
David started playing the piano at Frewville a few years ago after a major back operation forced him onto a disability pension. His back has now healed but he still loves the regular in-store gigs and is constantly adding songs to his repertoire. His playlist has grown from 70 songs in 2017 to a current 700 songs with artists from ELO to Olivia Newton John, Ed Sheeran, Queen, ABBA, Harry Styles, Lionel Ritchie among the eclectic mix.
Adelaide’s Finest’s visionary director Spero Chapleywas never a fan of bland supermarket muzak and introduced in-store musicians to create an upbeat vibe, bring smiles to people’s faces and build strong community connections.
In pianist David Riessen’s words: “playing my music to people, seeing them enjoy it… that really makes me happy”.
Adelaide’s Finest recently put a call-out for more musicians during a radio interview with host Spence Denny on ABC Radio Adelaide.
Our regular entertainers are still on board but we are on the look out for a broad mix of musicians whether it be guitarists, singers or performers who can play other instruments.
