These fall-off-the-bone pork ribs are a no-fuss, budget-busting way to feed your table. Pork is the hero ingredient but Coca-Cola stars in our super simple marinade.

Cook time: approx. 3.5 hours
Serves: 4


1.5 kg – 2kg American pork ribs
600ml Classic Coca Cola
½ brown onion chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 bay leaves
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup white vinegar
1 cup Community Co. tomato sauce
40g brown sugar
1.5 tbsp. salt


In a large pot pour 1.5L water, 300ml Coca Cola, ½ chopped onion, salt, and bay leaves. Fully submerge ribs in the liquid, bring to the boil, lower heat and simmer for 45 mins – 1 hour. For the sauce, combine 300ml Coca Cola, the remaining chopped onion, tomato and Worcestershire sauces, white vinegar, brown sugar, and pepper to taste. Coat the cooked ribs in the sauce, marinate for up to 2 hours (if you have time and then cook in a 200°C oven for 20 mins or until sticky and dark in colour.
