
The long weekend is almost here, the weather is warming and spring is calling for lighter brighter flavours, just like the beautiful pairing of Spencer Gulf prawns and creamy avocados. This week, we’re shining the spotlight on both!
Spencer Gulf King Prawns 16/20s are on special for $21.90kg in this week’s catalogue, with Hass Avocados for $1.50 also featured! Together, they’re a natural match, perfect for salads, layered on toast, or crafted into fresh appetisers to share.
At Pasadena’s Oceanicbar, we’ve given the classic prawn cocktail a light twist: a prawn and avocado salad with Marie Rose sauce on toasted in-house rye bread, paired with a glass of wine. Come by for tastings of both the dish and the lovely Sav Blanc from Crittenden Wines, this Friday (October 3rd) from 11.30am –1pm and dine-in to enjoy the full meal and glass by the bar for a special price of $25, available Friday through Sunday.
On Saturday, October 4th, we’ll also be offering tastings of Salt and Peppered Whole Fried Fish from 11.30am–1pm, with two delicious recipes (that were both a hit at today’s Frewville tastings) to inspire your long weekend dinner plans.
